Description
The TATA electric starter retractor (mushroom) is designed for diesel engines of the 178F and 186F models installed on walk-behind tractors, mini-tractors and generators. This device performs a key function in the engine starting system - when voltage is applied, it retracts the starter gear, ensuring engagement with the flywheel and thereby starting the diesel engine. The retractor housing has a diameter of 53 mm, and the length of the "mushroom" itself is 41.5 mm - the parameters correspond to the dimensions of the standard relays for starters used in the electric starting systems of 178F and 186F engines. The design ensures fast and reliable operation even at low voltage, and is also designed for multiple switching cycles without loss of performance. If the retractor is not replaced in time, the malfunction can lead to a complete stop of the starter. In addition, prolonged operation with a faulty relay increases the risk of overheating the starter and damage to its internal components.
